Listening – Day 22

Exploring Romanian music.

Another one of my favourite composers. Enjoy this piece! Have a great Tuesday! 🙂

  1. The first half reminded me of soundtracks from 1940’s movies, like the background of a story. The middle part seemed more like pure music that didn’t care if you liked it or not. Then the last part went back to being a movie soundtrack. Even so, I couldn’t tell you what the story was.

    1. 😀 Yes, I forgot to mention the story behind it :). This music is supposed to describe the composer’s memories about his childhood home and the sunsets. For Romanians, this can send a little to Romanian folklore. I imagine a hot summer day at the country side, when it’s so hot that the grass is dried out and there’s no movement, everything is still. Then you can hear the bells calling the cows and it gets cooler and the sunset sets.
